Q: QuestionThe large burner on the right front gets so hot that it scorched the burner bib below the coils. The range surface gets so hot you can get burnt by touching it. Is this normal?

• A:Answer I have owned two of these, the previous model (20 years) and now this new model for about three months, and neither of these two had the described problem. I would suggest that something in either the wiring hook-up or the CPU inside the control panel has an error and would get it looked at as soon as possible as what is described could lead to an injury or worse.

Q: QuestionI just had my GE electric range installed. It is squeezed in between my cabinents and my refrigerator with no space in between. Will this be a problem?

• A:Answer Hi - Thanks for choosing our GE Model JB250RKSS! We know you'll be pleased with your choice. Porcelain enamel finishes are easy to maintain with soap and water. The porcelain enamel surface can also withstand moderate cleaning with non-abrasive cleansing powders. However, since there is a wide variety of cleaning products available, we recommend following the guidelines of the manufacturers of these cleaning products. For example, some non-scratch products are approved for cleaning enamel surfaces while most steel wool pads are not recommended. If the range is hot, use a dry paper towel or cloth to wipe up any acidic spills. When the surface has cooled, wash with soapy water, rinse and polish dry.
