“Our stove has a loud hum when the cooktop or oven is on. An appliance technician looked at it and said that the hum is normal for slide-in units because of the fan in the rear that cools the front controls. Has anyone else experienced this loud humming?”

Id like to know the same thing. Sometimes it home is really loud if I have multiple pots on the stove. If I push on it it seems to stop but once I touch anything it comes back. Does anybody have any answers to this?

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Our GE double oven hummed so loud and it was very annoying. If you pushed in on the back cover it would stop. Repair came out , tightened the screws, help slightly but not completely. After he left, I took a wooden door trim shim and placed it between the top where the fan mount is and the back cover and fixed it, it is completely quiet now.

They have added the Cooling Fan Component older ranges did not have because of the increase in Electronics. It is very important. However, I have seen a larger number of service calls related to the fan making More Noise. First you have to ask yourself if it is Annoying just because your not use to it. Or is it annoying because it is ABNORMAL. I have gone into a large number of these and Found the Fan was not properly attached or came loose during shipping and had to be reattached. I have in a few cases had to replace the Fan because of Damage. I have also in a few cases been able to Mitigate the issue by adding vibration dampening to the attachment points of the Fan. Please try again later.We purchased a brand new GE double oven (slide in) and the humming is so loud during and after the cook, we can hear it while sitting 40 feet away which the TV’s volume pretty high up. I can’t believe a $2800+ appliance is this loud, especially during use of the oven.

I have to turn it up higher to heat food even with my cast iron pans. I replaced the elements with no improvement. Planning on replacing the stove after the holidays.
