A:AnswerHi skey - Thanks for considering GE! Yes, in the case of a power outage, you can light the surface burners with a match. The oven is lit by electric ignition, eliminating the need for standing pilots. 1990 and newer gas ovens cannot be lit without power supplied to it. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

A:AnswerHello, thank you for your question. Gas and electric ovens will cycle on and off throughout the cycle to maintain the set temperature. When the oven temperature has dropped below the set temperature, the oven cycles on again to heat and will then cycle off again once it is higher than the set temperature. The goal is to maintain an average set temperature, but you will see a normal swing in temperatures throughout the cycle. This is typical of ovens, and is factored into how recipes are created and used. The amount the oven will cycle (either higher or lower than the set temperature) will vary, and each individual unit can be different. While we cannot provide exact temperature fluctuation ranges or variance, temperatures may vary from the set temperature by + 30 degrees to – 30 degrees. The temperature swing can also vary by how and where you are measuring the temperature in the oven, room temperature, door openings, etc. We hope this helps! If you have any further questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out. -Chris@GEA
A:AnswerNo need to purchase a new power cord, one comes with the unit. The new gas line I believe it's a necessity. We love our range. It's even hooked up to the internet.
A:AnswerHi vincelinda- Yes, all of our gas cooking appliances come ready to be connected to natural gas; however, they also come with an LP conversion kit to connect to LP (Liquid Propane). We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas range to LP. The conversion must be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. The conversion instructions are located in the wiring diagram (mini-manual) or included with the LP kit attached to the appliance near the pressure regulator. Thanks for choosing GE Profile! Enjoy - Sue
A:AnswerHello Paul! Thanks for your recent purchase and for being part of the GE Appliances family. This will not work for your new range. This unit requires 208/240V, 60Hz and 30A. A:AnswerHi Ziggy! We appreciate your question. The height specified as 36 1/2 inches is the overall height of the unit, so it would include the height to the top of the grates. We hope this helps! Emily@GEA
