Hello rachela56 - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. In the case of a Power failure, you can light the surface burners with a match. Use extreme caution when lighting the burners this way. The oven cannot be lit if there is a power outage. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
