QuestionI purchased this oven last year and the glass top is very fragile. It was immediately scratch and indented from metal pans. Now it’s entirely cracked all the way through in two spots. Can the stovetop be replaced? Can Best Buy come out and fix it?

QuestionWhat is the difference between a JGSS86SP1SS and a JGSS86SPSS? Thank you!

- Answer I'm not sure this was adressed properly. It looks like GE made a mid model switch. I looked at the manual and there is a difference. The SP1SS does not have a dedicated Air Fry button for the lower oven while the SPSS does. Instead, there's a delayed start feature. Oddly enough, the 1SPSS has an illumination icon in the display but no idea how one goes about selecting it

- Answer Hi - Great question! Yes you can, providing you are canning with a water-bath, pressure canner, or pressure cooker. It is essential that you use flat bottom canners. Do not use large diameter canners or other large diameter pots for frying or boiling foods other than water. When canning, use recipes and procedures from reputable sources. QuestionNever had a convection range before. Is it normal for convection fan to cycle on and off (on for 55 seconds off for 5 seconds continuously).

- Answer Hi! Thanks for asking, we can understand wanting to check on this. On some models of dual-fuel and electric ranges/wall ovens, the oven convection fan comes on immediately. On some models, the fan is also used during preheat. The convection fan will typically operate during all convection cooking modes and (along with the heating elements) will shut off when the door is opened and turn back on when door is closed. During cooking modes it will run to a specified on/off cycle, dependent upon the cooking mode being selected. It is normal for the fan to cycle on and off frequently during the convection cooking cycle. Algorithms decide when elements and fans should run to create the optimal heat distribution within the oven cavity. Hope this helps! Happy cooking. -Michael@GEA

To use traditional baking, you'll press the BAKE pad and for convection baking, you'll press the CONV BAKE pad. Convection baking is only available for the lower oven. We hope this helps! - Answer Its shows progression by degree. Top oven heats very quickly. Bottom oven around the same amount of time as a conventional oven.
