I never hear the freezer running so it's very quiet. Does not come with a drain hose. My wife defrosts by un plugging the freezer, using hair dryer to dislodge the frost and ice, and scooping it out. She then uses towels to soak up any remaining water. It takes all of 15 minutes to defrost our freezer after we empty it and unplug it. No need for the drain to be used in my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Does not come with a drain hose. I have mine in the garage and it is very quiet. Even at night with the garage closed up I have look at the light to be sure it is working. Very pleased with the unit and scepter for motor opening in back. Like most people I put a screen over it.

We do not provide decibel ratings for our chest freezers, but we can assure you that when designing all of our appliances, noise level is a factor we keep in mind. Also, this model does not come with a drain hose. You would need to purchase one to use this feature. We did want to let you know, though that the thread size on the defrost water drain is M14 if you want to try and locate a hose. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with! -Chris@GEA
