A/C units will have condensation and should drip only outside of your home. The tray is designed to have that condensation move away from the window sill and drip to the ground.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, condensation. Sounds like you removed the rubber stopper from the bottom of the unit. You can plug that hole and supposedly the condensation water buildup helps cool the compressor. If the hole is plugged and you see water droplets on the metal that is normal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is designed to slope slightly down from the inside out. If there is a lot of moisture in the air water will condense and leak out the back. If you have a storm window, to assure it slopes down and outside you may have to add a spacer on the window sill to assure when installed it will clear the storm window frame or the vinyl window frame. This is an easy task requiring little wood working experience. Loews sells primed wood stock you can use for this task, and they will trim it to length at no charge. I don't know if they will rip it to width for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello and thank you for the excellent question. When the air conditioner is first used and on high humidity days, the unit may drip water outside. However, under normal operation, the water created is only enough to use in the unit for more efficient operation. Keep in touch! - JB
