Hello Aloha girl. This is Michelle with GE and I am happy to help . If burner caps are discoloring or blackening after each use, a flame adjustment may be needed. Too much air mix can cause soot and a yellow flame. Call your gas company or your gas installer to resolve. Please note that due to their continual exposure to high temperatures and abrasion by the cookware, it is normal for the grates will gradually lose their shine. Thank you for checking.
