Q: QuestionWhat is the material for the walls of the cavity/interior? Is it stainless steel or galvanized steel? Is it PFOA, PTFE and PFOS free?
Asked by DVM92.
- A:Answer Hello, thanks for asking these great questions! We are happy to help. All of the surfaces are stainless steel. There isn’t any non-stick coating applied to any surface. The outside, the inside, the racks, the pans, and trays are all stainless steel. Additionally, we evaluate the safety of materials and chemicals used in GE brand appliances through our hazardous substances management process. We have voluntarily decided to identify, reduce, and eliminate to the extent possible materials of concern from our appliance products and parts, even when not required by regulation. We don't comment specifically on product content - which is confidential - however, our processes help ensure that all GE Appliance products meet applicable hazardous substances requirements and our own product safety and environmental standards. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns! All the best, Kelsey@GEA

Q: QuestionWe will need to use an extension cord with this and description of cord follows: 6-ft 12/3 Heavy Duty Lighted SJTW Indoor/Outdoor Extension Cord by Watt's Wire - Short Yellow 6' 12-Gauge Grounded 15-Amp Three-Prong Power-Cord (6 foot 12-Awg). Okay?
Asked by morgaine.
- A:Answer Hello- We appreciate you checking with us. However, we aren't sure if this is the correct extension cord to use. We always recommend plugging the toaster oven into a grounded outlet. Never try to plug a three-pronged appliance into an un-grounded extension cord. You can use an extension cord with your toaster oven, provided the marked electrical rating of the cord is at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance (1500 Watts). We recommend “appliance” type extension cords. Ensure the cord is arranged so that it cannot be pulled on by children or tripped over. We also, always recommend unplugging the extension cord when you are not using the appliance. We hope this is helpful! Joyce@GEA

Q: QuestionIs the crumb tray on this model different to the quartz one, the quartz model shows a crumb tray with handle and it looks non stick. How does this work on this version (the calrod model) what’s the crumb tray made of?
Asked by Deontay.
- A:Answer Hello- Thanks so much for checking with us. We are happy to help! Both the Quartz and Calrod models have a galvanized metal crumb tray. Neither have a non-stick coating. The Quartz Heating Element will toast, bake or broil foods quickly thanks to the rapid quartz heating elements that combine with the halogen elements to deliver a faster preheat. We hope this is helpful! If you have any additional questions, please let us know. We are happy to help! Joyce@GEA
