“I have the PVM9179 Profile microwave. While I love it, I have an issue regarding grease. The microwave is vented to the outside, but there is a lot of grease that collects on the upper grill and runs. Is this normal?”

Hi Lainey - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE Model #: PVM9179SKSS. We are sorry to hear of the excessive grease and certainly understand your concern. The metal filters trap grease released by foods on the cooktop and should be cleaned once a month, or as needed for best performance. To clean the vent filters, soak them and then swish around in hot water and detergent. Light brushing can be used to remove embedded grease.
