“This unit is included when I screen for "removable turntable." Does that mean we can use it without the turntable, and if so does the cooking area have a flat "floor"?”

Hi Phlup- The microwave should not be used without the turntable in place. It is not recessed and is removable for cleaning. Also, the turntable can be turned off for large dishes. However, for best cooking results, leave the turntable on.
