QuestionIs this only a microwave oven, or does it also have non-microwave heating. I used to have one of these and it had both modes, plus you could turn on convection when microwaving. Thanx.

QuestionHow much does this oven differ from the Advantium I have experience with? I understand there isn't the halogen light feature for speed cook, but does the convection and microwave function together to cook and brown things similarly?

QuestionThis unit is included when I screen for "removable turntable." Does that mean we can use it without the turntable, and if so does the cooking area have a flat "floor"?

- Answer Hi Phlup- The microwave should not be used without the turntable in place. It is not recessed and is removable for cleaning. Also, the turntable can be turned off for large dishes. However, for best cooking results, leave the turntable on. QuestionThe control panel on the Microwave I recv'd does not match the photos. It is a wavy, gloss film, with ZERO tactile feel. I want the material in the pictures and same as your Profile Ranges. How can I get the microwave advertised/shown in photos?.

- Answer GE's answer is a misdirection. The images for the PVM7179 microwave above show a control panel that is *NOT* "Dorian Dark". (Nevermind that other microwave part number, nothing to do with this topic.) The control panel shown above (on Best Buy and GEaplliance.com websites) is what the customer wants (to match the upscale look of the Profile PHB920 induction range that customer also purchased). This plastic, glossy "Dorian" control panel is a mismatch, looks, and feels cheap. What can GE do to provide the control panel desired, and as shown in their photo's of this oven? (I attached actual photo in my sunny kitchen. Note how microwave panel reflects everything and looks/is cheap. Range has the matte control panel that the microwave is advertised to have. BTW- the plastic shipping film has been removed). How can consumer get what is shown?? Can you offer another convection model ?? For example, the Cafe model shows the matte brown/gray panel too...does it really have it? Or is really the cheap Dorian Dark also??)

- Answer Hi - Thank you for your interest in a new GE microwave. This model comes from the factory ready to be vented outside. In the event you are unable to vent the unit outside, we do include the charcoal filter and instructions for converting this unit to non-vented. QuestionWhen using the dial to enter microwave cooking time I am only able to add time is 15 second increments (15, 30, 45, etc.). I cannot set any microwave cooking time in between those set increments. Is this how the microwave cooking time functions?

QuestionThe door on my unit has never aligned properly. The lower right corner is too low by 1/4 inch. It has a lot of play, and if you lift it into its correct place the oven starts. Seems unsafe. Can this be fixed?
