Hello Betsy - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Because FastBake combines microwave and convection energy, metal cookware should not be used with the FastBake function. The Advantium uses less microwaving during the Speedcook function as it also cooks with light. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
