Q: QuestionIHAVE AN XL-1800 WHICH HAS A HORIZONTAL VENT WHICH VENTS INSIDE THE SPACE. I DO NOT HAVE DUCKWORK TO OUTSIDE. WILL THIS MICROWAVE WORK??

• A:Answer Hi SNOOPDOG- Yes, the microwave can be converted to recirculating (non-vent). When the microwave is converted to recirculating and not vented to the outside, the air will be recirculated through a disposable charcoal filter (included) that helps remove smoke and odors. Q: QuestionI am replacing JVM1640WB over the range microwave. I bought a different model and had to return it since the mounting hole on the top of the new one I bought sits right on the top of the cabinet lock .Any model that is similar to the mounting holes?

• A:Answer Hi Amethyst - When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Q: QuestionAbout our PVM9005 - Inside the microwave, on the right side wall there is a square of cardboard 4-1/2 inches by 4-1/2 inches. It covers an opening. My wife is concerned it will "catch fire" and wants to remove it. What is this? Should we remove it?

Try disconnecting power on your microwave at the power source for about 30 seconds to reset the electronics. On some occasions the electronics may develop a glitch. Removing the power supply to the unit may allow the electronics to reset. If this suggestion does not resolve the situation, I recommend scheduling a service appointment with an authorized GE Appliance technician who can accurately diagnose and correct the issue. For safety reasons, we cannot offer do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens due to high voltage (capacitor holds a high voltage charge even after it has been unplugged). • A:Answer We no longer manufacture a 36"W microwave; however, we have 36" filler kits for almost every model. One of the few models that will not work with a 36" filler is the PVM9005. Q: QuestionIf I interrupt cooking before the time is complete, say I set a plate of food for 2 minutes and pull it after 1:30. And I take my food, close the door with 30 seconds left. Will it wait that way indefinitely, or does the time eventually clear?

Countertop Microwave Oven PEB7226SFSS and GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SFSS or GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227SFSS. The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the oven. • A:Answer No there isn't a trim kit that fits. The bestbuy and GE website states there is one, but its wrong. We purchased both, but the kit doesn't fit once they tried to install the microwave. We had to purchase another microwave instead.

• A:Answer Hello - Do not operate the oven in the microwave mode without the turntable and the turntable support seated and in place. Make sure all cookware used in your microwave oven is suitable for microwaving. Most glass casseroles, cooking dishes, measuring cups, custard cups, pottery or china dinnerware which does not have metallic trim or glaze with a metallic sheen can be used. Q: QuestionWe have a GE Profile microwave PVM9005SJSS. It is 8 months old. The internal cooling fan and the interior light would not turn off. The only way to turn the cooling fan off is by opening the door. The Start/Pause button is no longer working. Help!
