Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us about this induction cooktop. We understand your concern and are happy to assist. All appliances do generate an electromagnetic field, as this is created when electricity is in use. Regarding induction specifically, an electromagnetic current is used in the cooking process (that is why the cookware needs to be magnetic for induction). We do advise in the use and care manual that those with a pacemaker or similar medical device should exercise caution if standing near the unit while it's in operation, and may want to consult their doctor. That said, our induction ranges and cooktops meet IEEE C95.1- IEEE Standard for Safety Levels with Respect to Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields, 3 kHz to 300 GHz – General exposure safety guidelines as well as FCC part –18, FCC standards for emitted electromagnetic fields. Because we adhere to those strict public standards, we are confident that the induction cooktop can be used safely by most people.
