We purchased the cord from the same company we purchased the stove from. We felt it was time to replaced the cord because it was 46 years old. Our plug in is on the floor at the back of the range, and was installed when our home was built. Don't know if this answered you question, but never heard of a direct wired range!

We found that the type of power cord will depend on the outlet you have and electrical codes in your area. We do not package the the power cord with electric ranges as it is not possible to determine the type of facilities our consumers have available or what local electrical codes require. We suggest checking your local electrical codes for more information on the appropriate outlet. Hope this helps! -Sylvia@GEA
