Can I leave the screen in the window? null

Probably if it’s on the outside of the window. The glass part of the window needs to remain closed next to the heat hose, otherwise all that heat will come right back into the room.

When the window panel/plate and exhaust hose(s) are installed for a portable air conditioner, the window screen can remain in place. There is no harm or problem at all with leaving the window screen in the window when using the portable air conditioner. Lauren@GEAppliances
