Hey there, this is a great question and we're happy to help. We do not recommend washing a 10 lb. weighted blanket in the washer. The blanket may become even heavier when it is wet. Many weighted blankets have fine glass or other fine material in the blanket and if something were to happen where some of the filler material escaped, this would be a problem that could damage the washer. Referring to the manufacturer's washing instructions is the best recommendation. Another note to keep in mind is many weighted blankets have a cover that can be removed for washing but the weighted part does not go through the washer.
