One thing you should know. This unit begins vibrating loudly when the drain pump kicks on to drain the tray. You'll think the unit isn't sitting correctly in the window when it does it, but it's fine. The rattling will eventually stop when it's done pumping out the condensation. I'm currently having issues with a sensor problem and it won't drain. This unit produces 2.5 gallons of water every 36 hours. I've timed it using the drain and a bucket to catch the water with gallon marks inside.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is normal for condensation to form inside the unit. Part of the normal function of an air conditioner is to cool the air while removing the humidity from the room. Our room air conditioners have a "slinger ring" around the rear fan blade. The ring is designed to pick water up off the bottom of the pan and throw it against the condenser coils. This design feature helps improve the efficiency of the unit by reducing heat on the coils, and helps remove moisture from the pan.
