That’s because you need to clean it. It will keep reminding you till you actually run it through the cleaning cycle. You could just hold the button down without cleaning it, but I don’t recommend doing that too often. It needs to be sanitized and descaled just like the manual states. Remember, you’re consuming the bacteria it’s accumulated until you clean it!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought this too - see pg 7 of your instructions- it says after 100 hrs of ice making, the cleaning indicator will flash telling you a descale cycle is needed (with white vinegar- see your instructions). Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello - thank you for reaching out about the cleaning light on your Opal ice maker. The blinking indicates that a descale cycle is needed after 100 hours of ice making. Not to worry, this won't interrupt ice production. Please consult the hard water map on Page 6 of the manual for frequency guidance and follow the descale instructions on pages 8-9 to ensure optimal performance. A copy of your manual can be viewed in the Features tab of the P4INSASBVTS Best Buy product page. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out anytime and we’d be happy to help. Stay cool! Lauren@GEAppliances
