• Hello- Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your questions. This unit allows you to use only one tank at a time on the side of the opal ice maker unit. Using this size side tank produces 3x more ice than using the reservoir alone, which also helps to reduce water refills during high demand. Hope this helps!
