The manual that came with it says to let it soak for at least 18 hours with the vinegar solution when descaling, which is a lot of work. So basically you don't have an ice maker for 24 hours.Filling and flushing numerous times. It's a real pain. I love the machine when it is working and the nugget ice is great. I use distilled water in mine to cut down on the scale build up.
