You can install this ice maker in a large closet as long as there is proper air flow and adequate clearance (3" at the rear and the sides) allowed for airflow around the sides and back of the unit. If the ice maker is installed in an enclosed cabinet, the rate of ice making will be reduced due to higher temperatures within the cabinet.
