Hi-this is Sue from GE Appliances. We are excited to hear of your interest! The dryer door is reversible for installation flexibility. Frontload washers have the hinge on the left side of the door and open to the left only. They do not have reversible doors because of the electronics involved with the door lock mechanism. This dryer features a reversible door, which means it can be removed and mounted to open in the other direction using standard hand tools.
