Hi Kel- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your purchase! The motor will speed up incrementally during the spin cycle. When spin is complete, it will coast until it stops. Motor “whining up” or ”coasting down” in spin is normal. Make sure the washer is level. The more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. Also, unbalanced loads can cause the washer to vibrate more. Stop the machine and redistribute the load. We encourage you to view the normal operating sounds you may hear in the Owner's Manual included with the unit or online at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90532.pdf - Any other sounds may require a technician for diagnosis. You can contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - We hope this is helpful. Thanks for reaching out to us!
