No, I can hear it in my bedroom which is at the back of my condo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't say quiet--it does make strange thumping sounds at a certain point in the wash cycle. Nevertheless, I have it on the second floor of a townhouse; it doesn't vibrate too much, and the sound is within reason.

You can hear when the washer starts to fill up, and cycle began.I am usually busy doing other things so I don't really noticed when it stops. The dryer has a loud buzz type signal when cycle is completed but you can turn it off if you like. I prefer it because I may forget and leave items too long then I may have to iron

That said---I had this laundry center installed last week and did four loads of laundry right away. I was shocked at how noisy it was! But I suspected it hadn't been leveled since it sounded like the tub inside was banging around during the spin cycle. (That was the noisiest part of the cycle.) I just had them come back and level it, then I fine-tuned it a bit with some shims after they left. Unfortunately the back legs are not really adjustable--i thnk they're supposed to be self-leveling? Anyway, it was very hard to get it level in the tight space where it has to fit in my laundry area. But now that it's more or less level, it is MUCH less noisy.

We believe this unit is quiet; however, you will be able to hear the unit run. GE does not have sone or decibel ratings for washers and dryers. This is not a rating that is normally listed, and is not required by Underwriters' Laboratories (UL). I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
