Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll need a 120v outlet dedicated to the unit (240v if you're getting an electric dryer) It should be somewhere behind or adjacent to it. This can be on the wall probably at shoulder height or anywhere down to the floor. The water connections should be directly behind the unit. You will need a cold & hot spigot and sufficient water pressure for the unit to work properly (we had a problem because the installer didn't turn the water on fully, it works great now). It's best to have a vent directly below and behind the dryer section of the unit (FYI I'm pretty certain the electric dryer doesn't need venting). This will prevent needing a duct to the side or above the machine, which necessitates moving the unit 3-7 inches further out from the wall. You can go to GE.COM and download an installation manual with all the exact measurements. If you're purchasing the gas dryer, don't forget you will need a gas line behind the unit as well. Ours had a connection that was 20 years old and they said we needed a plumber to replace it. I said to install everything else and I'd hook up the gas. If you do this, brush a little dish soap on the gas connection nipple to be certain no gas is escaping. BTW, once the water pressure was right, this is a great machine! Good luck!
