Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We have up string lights but they are under our front covered porch. We have 2 of these outside but protected from direct contact with weather. You could always wrap them with cling wrap if they are out side like connected to a drop cord. Wrap a couple times and tape both ends it should still be able to get a wifi signal. Hope this helps and works

To answer your question, You can use the smart plug outside of your home but it's actually designed for indoor use so we don't recommend it for outdoor use due to extreme weather condition limitations. We want to set your expectation that might not fully function during extreme weather. However, we do have an outdoor plug and you can check it out in Walmart and Amazon.
