Yes! The battery is removable and weights around 9lbs. Gen3 recommends a tray style bike rack that mounts to a trailer hitch that is suitable for e-bikes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this battery is removable. I drove 10+ miles with my bike on my truck rack after removing the battery and the weight of the bike was just fine. I have not weighed the battery itself but it’s pretty heavy and takes off a big amount off weight if you remove it. With the battery on the bike, I wouldn’t have been able to carry the bike on my trunk rack without possibly damaging my trunk!
