It's pretty loud. I have a different brand as well and I much prefer the speeds and noise level of my other one. This one's 3 speeds go from 3 (highest level) - extremely loud, 2 (middle level) - pretty loud to 1 (almost silent) almost wondering if it's actually doing anything. We usually keep it at a two which is still pretty loud, even when we sleep. It's almost like a white noise machine and you do get use to it eventually. It does provide a lot of airflow which helps to cool down a room as well.

I can't hear very well what people say to me from across the room on the the other side of it though. The air is so fresh it's worth the noise but it's also nice to turn it down after a few hours. Hope this helps!
