Q: How often do you need to clean/change the filter if used nightly?
A: You should vacuum off the black pre-filter once a month as it catches a lot of dust and larger particles. The hepa filter behind it should last around 6 months before you need to replace it. It may be a little more or a little less depending on the environment it's used in. I use mine 24/7 in a living room with pets. There is an indicator light to signal when the filter needs to be replaced.
A: The unit will work in larger areas, it will just take longer to process and filter the air. We do not recommend running the unit when windows and doors are open as it will just be cleaning the outside air and not filtering the air in the room.
A: They are the sames units. There is no difference between the two. The SKU: 5709029 is a Best Buy exclusive product and the AC5900WCA is a Germ Guardian product. Best Buy can set there own prices.
Q: does this unit have UV lamp?/ UV?
A: Yes, It comes with a UV-C light bulb that is replaceable. The instruction manual states, “UV-C Light Technology works with Titanium Dioxide (Ti02) to enhance the elimination of airborne germs. Ti02 is activated by the UV-C light to decompose remaining odor molecules caused by smoking, cooling and pets.” This model has a light that lets you know when it’s time to change the filters as well as the UV-C bulb. I purchased mine 3 weeks ago when the air quality here in Northern Ca was very bad due to the wild fires and it worked great for me and gave me peace of mind that my air inside the closed up house was clean.

A: it depends on room temperature, if the air is hot, it will blow hot air, it its cold, will blow cold air
Q: How loud is this at top speed.
A: It's pretty loud. I have a different brand as well and I much prefer the speeds and noise level of my other one. This one's 3 speeds go from 3 (highest level) - extremely loud, 2 (middle level) - pretty loud to 1 (almost silent) almost wondering if it's actually doing anything. We usually keep it at a two which is still pretty loud, even when we sleep. It's almost like a white noise machine and you do get use to it eventually. It does provide a lot of airflow which helps to cool down a room as well.
