Laptops that can use USB c charging are specifically connected to the battery, or power delivery system, through the motherboard using special controller chips. This laptop also has a huge power draw. To compare, most USB c chargers (currently) are rated at 100w of power at most. This laptops proprietary charger is rated at 230w.
