“If I upgrade the RAM I lose the warranty?”

• no you will not void warranty by simply upgrading the ram as it is not modifying the physical electronics in any way for example cutting up the motherboard and gluing it back together

• Unfortunately Yes because upgrading the ram means you have to dis-assemble the laptop and expose the inside. There is no easy access ram compartment
