Hi Neo, The graphics card uses a standard 8pin power connector. You wont need a ATX 3.0 PSU to power this GPU. Hope this helps! - John
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this card work with a normal 8pin conector
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 12vhpwr connector is not necessary for this GPU. It technically isn't necessary for 4090 either assuming you use the many adapters available provided by third parties or your PSU manufacturer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. It's just 12v+/- rails from the power supply.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Why would you need the newer power supplies for an 8-pin connector? They've been using eight pin connectors for the past 10 years. That's the one thing about graphics cards that haven't changed is that they're still up until this generation all using the same eight pin connectors usually one or two. Only now Have they started coming out with this new connector but even then they provided an adapter in the box and the only issues that have happened from the adapter have been user error because people aren't plugging the adapter in correctly. Now they have some newer cards like the 4090 that use 16 pin connectors and they come with adapters in the box and you plug two to 3 eight pin connectors into the adapter and then you plug the adapter which has the 16 pin on one side and the two to three 8 pins connectors on the other and you plug the 16 pin side into the card. Or you can get one of the new power supplies and it comes with a 16 pin connector straight from the power supply but you don't have to get one of the new power supplies to use a 16-pin graphics card. You can just use the adapter that it comes with in the box. You just got to make sure when you plug it in you plug it in hard and make sure it clicks cuz some people think they plug it in but it's not plugged in all the way and it shorts because it's not plugged in correctly and then it melts. anything you've heard of of melting 16 pin adapters is because people are not plugging the connectors in properly. they've done a whole study on it. look on YouTube, Linus tech tips and a bunch of other tech tubers have done studies with infrared cameras another YouTuber that did good study on it was gamers Nexus. But as far as you asking if you need the new power supplies for an 8 pin connector, that makes zero sense at all. eight pin connectors have been around for 10 plus years and they all do the same thing and and all apply the same amount of power. That's the one thing that hasn't changed on graphics cards in the past 10 years is that they either use one or two 8 pin connectors. I can take a power supply that's 10 years old and use it on a 4070 and It would work perfectly as long as it's 650 Watts which it requires but the card itself on the 4070 8 pin only uses 200 Watts, They require 650 Watts though because their accounting for the rest of the parts on the computer like the CPU and motherboard ETC so they tell people to get a 650 watt power supply if you want to have a 4070 because they're taking into account all the other parts on the computer. Eight pin connectors only puts out around 100 and something watts and then the slot puts out 75 Watts all together the 4070 8 pin edition only uses 200 Watts maybe a little more. There are some 4070s though, the triple fan ones and 4070TI's that use the 16-pin connector and they come with the adapter in the box or you can buy one of the new power supplies that come with a 16 pin connector straight from the power supply but like I said you don't have to You can you just use the adapter and just make sure you plug it in correctly. They have pretty much identified the problem and fixed it. They've also made the adapters better. So they're really is no reason to get the new power supplies that are coming out unless you're rich, but if you already have enough eight pin connectors and enough wattage on your power supply I would just use the adapter unless you're rich and just want to buy one of the new power supplies anyways.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No the old one is fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. ATX 3.0 power supplies can use the new 12+4 PCIe power cable without an adapter if the card requires it. This card does not use the new cable, only the standard 8-pin.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not that I know of. My Corsair RM750 from 2-3 years ago fit like a glove.
