Hi Mike, you'll need 2 devices to set this up. You can't connect Chromecast to your Wi-Fi hotspot from the same device you'll be using as the setup device. Also, to get the best experience with Chromecast, a high speed broadband connection with a strong Wi-Fi signal is needed. We don’t recommend using a mobile hotspot connection for the reason that it can have issues with bandwidth availability, data limits and usage fees.
