Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Chromecast has a guest mode where it sets up its own wifi. Give it a password and it looks like any other network, except you can connect with your phone ("forget" your home wifi pw for this) and log into chromecasts Guest. Then cast your screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can use it without wifi, obviously it would be just for casting from your device. Some devices are not compatible though. It works similar to how your phone sends to bluetooth speakers. This is only capable with the most updated software. I am not sure if it will only cast content already downloaded to your phone, or if it will cast from the internet. Do a simple search and you can find instructions on how to accomplish it.
