• Chromecast does not include apps on itself, but you can access in any phone, tablet or laptop /pc in your household and stream it to your TV through Chromecast, so basically no need to purchase any device if you have any of the 3 I mentioned and wifi access.

• Do you have a Chromecast unit to attach to your TV? If so, I found this link helpful in setting it up w/ my iPhone which has the apps like Netflix, Xfinity streaming, Hulu, etc., from which I can then 'project' movies to the TV, via wifi. The Chromecast unit will mirror what's on yr device. Just start the movie on my phone & tap the little [ ] icon in the top corner & it seems to work fine. But set up was not intuitive...
