Works with NHL. I bought it just for that purpose. I would assume it works with the MLB app as well.

Yes. Both the MLB and NHL apps support Google Casting.

The MLB At Bat app on mobile devices will cast directly to the Chromecast and it works great!

If you load Kodi and run the live tv Pear program MLB works.

It's a glorified "Dongle" you can mirror cast whatever you want...except it'll have delays in audio not in sync with the video! Very disappointing!
