A:Answer Hi there Romeo, Nest Wifi Pro is a tri-band mesh Wi-Fi system that utilizes 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, new 6 GHz wireless radios to allow more data to flow through your router and deliver faster device speeds, up to 5.4 Gbps (4.2 Gbps outside of US) combined. However, combined speeds are total speeds across all bands and actual speeds will still be affected by environmental factors like the thick cinder block walls of your home. It connects to your Internet modem using an Ethernet cable. And if you're using a modem/router combo, we recommend setting it in bridge mode and disabling its Wi-Fi functionality to avoid any network issues caused by both your combo and your primary Nest Wifi Pro, broadcasting the same SSID and password.
Additionally, Nest Wifi Pro isn't compatible with 3rd-party Wi-Fi routers, points or extenders to create a wider Wi-Fi mesh network, since it can only work with another Nest Wifi Pro Router. It also doesn't require any subscription service to work, but it will need a high speed Internet connection with your preferred Internet service provider, which may require a regular subscription fee. More importantly, we recommend using Nest Wifi Pro in the country of purchase only as local restrictions and standards may impact the functionality of the device.
