Yes, when plugged in, it will record 24/7. WARNING -- this camera can not be viewed in the old Nest app, only in the Home app. ALSO, since this camera is not being "added" to the Nest "environment", it can not be viewed with a browser!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From my brief testing experience with this camera (before I returned it), the answer is "yes" and "no". It seems that when the camera is plugged in, it will record 24/7, even if there is no motion, as the previous Nest cameras did. On battery, it only records if there is motion in a "zone" that you set up. This, I assume, is to conserve battery power.

Also, Nest Cam (battery) can accommodate up to 10 days of continuous video recording (CVR) and 24/7 video history if hardwired to power and subscribed to Nest Aware Plus ($12 a month for all of your cameras, speakers, and displays on the same home structure). In addition, all new Nest cameras come with 3 hours of event video history.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This camera supports both wired and solar panel power supplies. It understands the difference. So it can go 24/7. This is not supported by the Nest app any longer -- Google has been moving everything to the Home app instead, and nothing new works in Nest. That said, there is a feature-limited version of the Home app online today that allows viewing your cameras from any web browser. For full control, you need the Android or iOS app.
