Your Nest cameras will still work even without a Nest Aware subscription. You still have basic motion detection, watch live feed, and get snapshots up to 3 hours in the past, which will automatically expire and be deleted after 3 hours. However, we do recommend getting the Nest Aware subscription to get the most features out of Nest Cam (Battery). You get more than 3 hours of video recording, including Intelligent Motion Alert and the ability to set up Activity Zone to filter out unnecessary sound and motion that your camera detects.
