• This is not a WiFi Device. It only assists in connecting other Nest devices to the Nest system.

• Yes you need WiFi. You do not need cable but WiFi is necessary.

• This device does not allow you to connect non nest devices to it. It is only setup to extend the range of nest devices (I.E. Detect, Yale Lock, Protect etc.) allowing them to be installed further from your existing wifi router. It does not have a monthly expense.
