“With this being a smart device is there anyway when the battery is low to use the app to mute the beeping, at my parents house there is a detector 20' up and would like them to be able to mute it to sleep and get someone else to come change the battery?”

• The device is supposed to alert the user Before the beeps starts - that the battery is low. So, presumbably you'd have a week to get someone to replace the battery before the annoying beeps.

• Yes. You can silence the Nest Protect using the Nest app. However, there are instances alarms can't be hushed with the App Silence. Take a look at this link for more details: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247077
