You set all Nest items up through the Nest app. As such, if you setup the new house with the same named wifi, the Nest system will not see a difference. If you choose a different name or password for the wifi, you will just have to setup the nest items again in the new house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can reset the detectors from the app and reinstall, including rename, at your new home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you were using the same router, sure, it should work. However, it is easy and quick enough that it wouldn't be worth the trouble to do it ahead of time. In fact, trying to get it all set up correctly ahead of time would most likely take more time and probably result in more problems than just doing it when the hour is finished.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends. If you plan on moving the wifi from your old house to your new house, then you can setup the Nest Protect in your old house, have them installed in your new house (they will show as being offline in the Nest app). The Nest Protects in your new house will function as a basic smoke/CO2 detector until they have a wifi connection meaning, they won't be able to update their status in the Nest app or alert you if there is a problem. The ring will glow orange if there is a problem including losing wifi connection. If you plan on setting up an entirely new wifi (i.e. new SSID and/or password) in your new house, then you'll have to remove the Nest Protect's from your Nest account and re-add them. https://nest.com/support/article/What-should-I-do-when-I-change-my-Wi-Fi-network-password-or-get-a-new-Wi-Fi-router (about half way down on this page)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can set them up at your current home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If are moving your router as well, then yes you can program it remotely and get it installed. Its fairly simple to move from your account using the app, just change network details
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just install them but not set them up to the wifi, otherwise you will have to add them to the new router later on. The plastic tap should be removed only before you are ready to the wifi connection, otherwise, you will encounter many headaches
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you need wifi at that location.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure are you planning to take your wireless router and WIRE to the new house? Key thing is to decide where you want to put each of the cable drops, and where do you want to centrally manage your "system"? With all of the various wireless products that have to connect into, your router, plan ahead for more space than you think you will need. Do you want your security system in the same space? You will also need to have several electric outlets in this area as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These do not use Wi-Fi. They use Bluetooth 4.0 so the system only works with a newer cellphone or tablet. You can indeed set them up anywhere because the configuration is stored in the bulbs and they are associated with your online account, so yes you can set them up in your current home as you describe. I would suggest buying just two first to test and make sure they are what you want. Since they are Bluetooth you need to be in range of at least one of the bulbs (about 200 feet), the bulbs also can relay the signal to each other ( if they are in range of each other) so they act like their own network independent of any Wi-Fi. This is a unique feature of these bulbs.
