A:AnswerVery easy, look at the nest website and compare your wires to your current setup to make sure it's compatible before you buy. Then when you install the app, it guides you on the install.
A:AnswerMel, The answer is no. Unfortunately you will need one for each zone. You can however, install the Nest in the main part of your home, and use a less expensive thermostat in the other areas of your home. I have 3 Nest thermostats in my home.
A:AnswerI have not had this issue with my nest thermostat but when I had my old ac system w/o the nest thermostat the temp inside my house will cool down to 80 and it will continue to run even if the temp was set to 70. My house is really small so it should not take that long to cool down. I had it checked and it was due to low freon. If your system stops running at 80 even if the temp was set to a lower temp, it could be a sensor issue. It could be that the room where your nest is located already reached the set temp. Aside from that the only probable reason I can think of is a defective nest unit as long as it was confirmed to be compatible with your system and the wires are connected to the right places. If I have have the same issue, I would consult a nest pro or an ac technician.
A:AnswerYes, you’ll need the C wire. If you already have an existing thermostat use the stickers provided by Nest to identify each wire this will make it easier for installation. You make run into an issue with 24V wire it the current isn’t strong enough to power the Nest. But I hope you don’t have any issues,
A:AnswerI suggest using the compatibility checker to see if this unit is compatible. You punch in a couple things and it gives you an answer. It tells you if it’s compatible
A:AnswerThis can be accomplished using Farsight which is a feature available only on the Nest Learning Thermostat.

A:AnswerIts very simple. You can google the step by step youtube video that should let you know if the Nest is compatible with your pre-existing wiring. https://youtu.be/VP_4_7iAXVw
A:AnswerHello, I purchased two of the Nest thermostats for my home and installed them where my old ones were located... about chest-height. I have noticed that the display lights up when I step in front of it. I doubt that the sensors will pick up movement from small children or dogs unless they can reach up to the height of the thermostat.
I hope that helps.
