This will only work if you have a nest thermostat. I don't see why you couldn't put it in the freezer to monitor that temperature, but you'll certainly want to make sure that you don't mistakenly tell your thermostat to use this sensor as the temperature of the house. You'll also have to be careful to not get it wet, but if you put it in a plastic bag or something, I doubt that would be a problem. Also, you'll need to make sure that your wifi will work inside the freezer
