Yes, Nest Wifi router can replace the rental router. You only need to wire Nest Wifi router to the modem provided by the ISP (Verizon) via the Ethernet port. You can take a look at this support article for more details on the setup : https://support.google.com/wifi/answer/9548301?hl=en.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. This is not an all in one solutiion to a fios router. U can buy the fios router outright for $200 instead of rental fee. The mesh networks are for those ok with slower speeds or with wifi dead spots using this with a modem. Problem faced is fios router is a combo router modem so u may run into network issues and have to turn off wifi on fios router for any mesh network to work. For nest to work without fios router, U need to buy a modem too the google nest isn't as fast as other options. You are better off getting a gigabit netgear router/modem for cheaper. If u have cable, u have to use Verizon router or buy moca adapters for each cable box coax input or tv guides & VOD won't work. That can get expensive. If u aren't in a huge house or 1 flr then a wifi network like this is overkill and u are better off buying a router instead. Verizon has a list of supported types.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Perhaps in part - those devices are typically a modem/wireless router combo and the Nest is just the wireless router. You'd need to be sure to purchase a separate modem and you'd want to check with Verizon as to what modems their services are compatible with. Good luck mate!
