Yes. Nest Wifi supports Wi-Fi enabled devices, including smart lights and plugs that connect to 2.4 GHz and/or 5 GHz. Nest Wifi uses the same name for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Both radio bands are active simultaneously. Based on the device capabilities, Nest Wifi attempts to select the band that will deliver the best performance for your devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope, some smart devices can connect to 5G some only the 2.4 the ones that can only connect to 2.4 you're probably s out of luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not Necessarily!! Be careful. I have this router/mesh system and overall I like it. It has been reliable and fairly fast. BUT, I cannot connect my smartplugs with it. While it uses both 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz, you cannot "force" it to use the 2.4 ghz that is required to set up many/most smart plugs. Since your smartphone (I have iphone X) must be connected to 2.4 ghz to set up the device, and neither the phone nor the router can "force" 2.4 ghz, it will not set up the plug. Disappointing that I didn't know this. Would not have purchased this router. BTW, Nest support suggests you move farther away from the router with your phone since 2.4 ghz has longer range and may connect over 5 g at longer distances. I moved all over my apartment, but never able to get the 2.4 g.
