A:AnswerThe phone is set up for Verizon. As a Google phone, the operating system is a very clean version of Android, without the extras of other Android versions modified for other phone service providers..
From my understanding, whether a phone is locked to a specific provider or not has nothing to do with the amount of any extra software the phone may or may not have. However, an unlocked phone does not have any possible provider discount so it is usually at full price. I didn't notice any extra software on my new 3XLbeyond the apps I transferred over from my iPhone when I set up the Google. The transfer was smooth and seamless with nothing extra piled on to the clean Android operating system.
A:AnswerYes. Contact straight all and they will tell you it can be switched. Just have to buy the sim card package and you will be able to move the phone to straightalk. They will walk you through it. Straight talk also uses verizon towers so you won't notice much of a difference.
A:AnswerYou can do either. You don't even have to open the box if you don't want to, however I believe that there is a 30 fee you will get hit with either way. Same fee Verizon and everywhere else charges I'd at least give the Sim swap a try though!
A:AnswerIt is unlocked and it covers 180 countries. You can connect it online through Google Fi but the only thing im not sure is they send you a sim card or if its a more direct activation.
