I've been using the youtube music app since its bundled but I'd bet that there are other apps like spotify or pandora or even apple music that work with it.

I will often leave my phone inside so it doesn't overheat and throw my earbuds in and lay out by the pool and control the music from my watch. Not sure about directly from the watch speakers because they're not that loud.

I have yet to successfully stream music without my phone being nearby, making purchasing an LTE almost pointless. Part of what makes this whole watch and complete joke. The second is while working out I started with close to 70% battery life. While playing music and working out almost 2 hours later I had 17%.
